National Specification Manager – Housebuilder Sector


This is a brand-new role created due to sustained growth within a dynamic, forward-thinking group of companies. We are seeking an experienced and driven National Specification Manager to take ownership of the housebuilder specification channel at a critical point of growth.

This is a key position in the business — an opportunity to build and develop a pipeline of specification-led projects with major national and regional housebuilders. With huge shifts happening in the heating and building sector (including the phase-out of gas boilers by 2025), this is an exciting time to be part of a business offering sustainable, future-proof solutions to the market.

You’ll be responsible for developing strong relationships with housebuilders, influencing at all levels, generating specifications, and managing a pipeline of projects from initial concept through to handover. This role requires someone with experience in specification sales, ideally within the construction, heating, plumbing, or interiors sector.

The Role:

  • Develop and grow a housebuilder specification sales channel nationwide.
  • Build strong relationships with key decision-makers at national and regional housebuilders.
  • Generate specifications and manage the pipeline from lead generation through to handover to internal teams.
  • Work closely with internal departments to ensure a collaborative approach.
  • Deliver a first-class customer experience while achieving agreed KPIs and targets.
  • Provide market feedback and insight to the leadership team.
  • Be a brand ambassador and play an integral role in the business’s continued growth.

Experience Required:

  • 5+ years in specification sales, ideally within construction, plumbing, heating, or related industries.
  • Proven track record of securing specifications and managing key accounts.
  • Commercially astute with strong negotiation skills.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • A proactive, driven individual with a consultative approach.
  • Full UK driving licence – this is a national role requiring regular travel.

Package:

Competitive Basic Salary – £60k+ DOE

Car Allowance – £750/month / £9,000 annually

Competitive Bonus

33 Days Holiday inc Bank Holidays

Location:

National role – preference for candidates based in North London or the Home Counties, but open to others nationwide.
