Business Development Manager

ASR International are exclusively partnering with a market-leading manufacturer in the bathroom industry for a Business Development Manager (Retail/Contracts)

in Scotland, also including North East, Northern Ireland & Isle of Man.

This is a well-established, mid-to-high-end German manufacturer specialising in quality sanitaryware products — a brand already making waves in the market. Sales are already up 30% year-on-year, with H1 hitting another record-breaking milestone. With new product lines launching and a recent acquisition of a European business, they’re entering a strong growth phase with some key industry customers onboard.

Role Overview:

  • We are looking for a self-motivated, conscientious sales professional. You would be commercially sharp and confident in building long-term relationships. This is a role focused on brand creation and positioning, taking the business to market as a go-to solutions partner.
  • You’ll be responsible for winning, developing and growing the sales across the retail & contract/projects suppliers. Inheriting a region with huge growth potential. There’s a clear opportunity for someone to manage a small client base. 75% of this is new business development.
  • You will be working closely with some of the region's leading retail showrooms, contracts/projects suppliers and industry buying groups. Negotiating direct deals and building strong, lasting partnerships. You will also have a presence at key industry events such as HIX, Installer Show and ISH, promoting the brand and securing new opportunities.
  • Your time will be spent developing business with mid-to-high-end retailer showrooms as well as chasing down contracts/projects within your area.
  • Growing independent merchants, including buying groups, which represent a strong growth area.
  • You’ll be expected to grow the contract and projects client base in the region too.
  • This is an offline(where possible), exclusive brand that’s built around quality, not volume, so choosing the right partners and locations is critical.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Territory Management: Drive sales growth across Scotland, covering BT, HS, KW, IV, AB, PH, PA, FK, DD, KY, G, KA, ML, EH, DG, TD, NE, IM
  • Customer Training: Deliver tailored training and support to turn customer teams into genuine brand advocates.
  • Help and support in independent merchants, growing the brand name, introducing plumbers through relationships and breakfast mornings.
  • Account Development: Build existing relationships with independent showrooms, developers and contract/projects suppliers while opening doors to new business.
  • Sales Initiatives: Lead and implement targeted sales strategies that support company growth goals.
  • Market Intelligence: Gather real-time insights to identify opportunities and strengthen the customer offer.
  • Product Promotion: Sell across the full product portfolio and identify opportunities to broaden the product range with customers.
  • Relationship Building: Strengthen connections across key channels and work closely with internal teams to ensure seamless service and delivery.

You’re commercially switched on, proactive, and experienced in managing retail and contracts/projects, sales territories. You know how to build relationships that last and thrive in environments where you can make a real impact. Industry knowledge, contacts and expertise are needed for this hire.

The package is highly competitive – including 25 days + bank holiday, Tablet, Phone, Laptop, medical, Quality German car, and a target bonus of upto 15%.
